Storm seems to be VERY interesting. I wonder if and how functionality of Nuke will be implemented. And how far will the color grading functionality go
(in my definition, a finishing system incorporates editing, compositing and color grading in one single app)

In the meanwhile, I'm waiting for EditShare's Lightworks.
It seems to have node-based compositing functions...
Hope it will be released soon!

Vegas 9 Pro is looking better and better.
I hope Sony Creative sees the opportunity to expand it to an entire suite.
Still glad that I have my AVID though.

I think the idea is that Storm will be a platform for other app's (Nuke/ FCP? whatever) to work of. It'll be a hub that does a bit of everything, but no one thing with the detail that a dedicated app' does. Kinda like what IQ and Smoke do right now.

You could not be more mistaken. The Foundry takes no prisoners. NUKE is now (and has been for some time) the de-facto app for VFX and it is the best at what it does. Expect nothing less from the STORM...

Though in the VFX market there was absolutely no competition to be fair.

Though they constantly improve and update it. I think The Foundry is one of the best companies out there atm. I expect STORM to be great.

This is, literally, the TENTH year I've heard a rumor like this.

It makes no sense: why "refocus" when they have iMovie and FCX, which already fill the markets this rumor is talking about? They'd just discontinue it. This is a crock.
