Default Electronic News Gathering

I hope to use Scarlet for electronic news gathering and TV documentary making. I hope to take advantage of the high-res capture and raw to down-convert into PAL or 720p, thus reducing noise and making the most of the 2/3" sensor even in possible low light and high contrast conditions.

A lot of the time I'll be running and gunning with few lights (if any, bar reflectors) and I'll have a serious need for multiple channels of audio.

The camera will need to be as tough as nails, have good battery life and an easy way to find perfect focus (you'd be amazed how often I see the subject out of focus and the background crystal on the nightly news). I don't care if it's heavy, I can go to the gym.

Anyone planning to use the camera for the same function?

ENG - nope. TV docos - absolutely!!! I has been some time since I have done my last doco... Scarlet is pumping my adrenalin once again! I am working on a script to be shot next Year on few Scarlets and maybe, just maybe an Epic...

The camera is going to be rugged - don't worry about that. In fact Big Jon went along the lines of "bulletproof" - so You should be OK in Somalia, but I wouldn't go downtown LA...

If 720P is Your final delivery (which for now is when it comes to ENG) - You are in for a treat!!!

Well they unveiled the Red One prototype (Frankie) at an NHL game, if I am not mistaken...
