Sad news today. Lost another good one.
Adam was an incredible presence in the music industry but also one hell of a filmmaker... a rare breed.. and every film and video he made was personally inspirational for me... and many others. The Beastie Boys were quite literally the soundtrack of my young adult life.. Loved his music. Loved his films. Loved the guy. Adam, you will be missed. More... |

Now I Don't know him, or his films but I just hated the Beastie boys music(what I heard), had my punk period in 77, so don't go for the bad ass image, from either Manchester, Liverpool, London or the US, but maybe it was just a money making act, and they where all just normal lads, either way I am sure he's done more living in his 47 years than I will ever do.

Wow.
Really? I can understand not being a fan of someone... but that's awfully cold.

I suppose the Punk in me never died... it's just a Bill Hicks line...I don't even drive these days.
I agree, a little out of place considering it was cancer & not drugs. My comeuppance won't be far behind, I probably have the same fate awaiting me I'm 47. Not long left now, counting the days.

Then you've missed a good show.
Bill Says...I don't mean to sound cold cruel or vicious, but I am, so that's the way it comes out. Why can't we hear A Good News Story... Today a young man on acid...who thought he could fly...jumped off a building He's an idiot... he's dead now, if he thought he could fly, why not try it from the ground first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX1CvW38cHA It's not in that clip, but when they say we lost a moron...he throws it in somewhere. Possibly in the Revelations at the Dominion London Can I stop digging now.

Oh I've heard that routine before.... don't remember which album it's on (maybe rant?). Except the version I've heard he always says "one less doorknob in the world"
Regardless - he was a genius. Thanks for the revelations link - didn't realize that full video was online.

No worries
Gallows humour, self depricating humour, Rock n Roll Humour. It seems Yauch was not the sid viscous of the music world, he was busy doing good things. I wonder does he want to be down there with Ule Brenner & Bill... or up there?
