Music sales up, cinema sales up, game sales up... but that happens in a recession people stop the big nights out and cut back the holiday, but they spend a little here and their to pamper yourself, like get a good computer game and play it out for 3-6 months, money well spent.

I bet chocolate sales are also up, video sales are down but I think that is because people can download much legal content to entertain themselves, both TV and film, but also looks like they are making more of an effort to get out to watch the latest cinema release.

I agree with Granty on this, treating yourself to small things you can enjoy. This would be less expensive if you wait till you get to own a movie on disc or download.

I think peter was making a joke, meaning sales up 8.4% up with a 2% inflation, the holiday Christmas season is going to be worth more than the inflationary rate along -bringing it up 10%+ on the last year.

Maybe the year would end big for movies like Avatar?:)
